About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) is seeking an Admissions Clerk for its Patient Access Department in Gravette, Arkansas. The hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare and preventive services with compassion, respect, and dignity, focusing on serving the underserved and improving access to care. The Admissions Clerk is responsible for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and outpatients undergoing hospital-based testing or procedures. This role ensures accurate patient information collection, informs patients about hospital policies, interviews patients or their representatives, enters admission data into the computer database, and distributes information to relevant departments. The position also involves participating in performance improvement and CQI activities, operating a multi-line phone system, handling hospital paging, and performing cashier duties for patients and employees. Other assigned duties may also be part of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Data entry and word processing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.
  • Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database.
  • Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.
  • Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
  • Operates a multi line phone and does all paging for hospital.
  • Responsible for cashier duties within the hospital for patients and employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
