About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is seeking an Admissions Clerk for Mountain View Imaging Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The role arranges efficient, orderly admissions for inpatients and for individuals receiving hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. The clerk collects and accurately enters patient information into the computer system, ensures patients understand required policies and procedures, and distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. The position requires maintaining a quarterly accuracy rate of 95% on all admissions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use a hospital information system and operate basic computer functions and software.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Responsibilities

• Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and individuals receiving hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.
• Interview incoming patients or their representatives.
• Collect and accurately enter required admission information into the computer system.
• Ensure patients are aware of required policies and procedures.
• Distribute appropriate information to ancillary departments.
• Maintain a quarterly accuracy rate of 95% on all admissions.
