About The Position

The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is looking for a full-time university staff Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator to support student recruitment, admissions, and school related event support, under the direction of the Manager of Admissions & Student Engagement. This position collaborates with unit, division, department and school staff; this position will also work closely with external campus partners that include the Office of Student Financial Aid, Bursar’s Office, Registrar and other programs across the Anschutz Medical Campus. We are seeking academic service professionals who are looking to develop in student recruitment and admissions. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., student events, professional development), but typically will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm. Hybrid options are strongly considered and will be determined by the Manager of Admissions & Student Engagement. All hybrid working arrangements are reviewed and approved by SDMHR Director and SDM leadership. This position may require occasional travel.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year of experience with student recruitment and admissions or administrative experience (i.e., business office operations, data entry, or similar positions.
  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Two (2) years of experience with student recruitment and admissions

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to recruitment and admissions challenges.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of experience with student recruitment and admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff; responsible for being available to analyze and evaluation prospective and current students questions and be able to interpret recruitment, pre-requisite, admissions, and/or matriculation questions.
  • Counsel and advise prospective students on the SDM dental education programs recruitment and admissions processes, timelines, deadlines, and individual application and candidacy status (i.e., application documents, troubleshooting portal and submission inquires / issues, regarding SDM for dental educational program, campus life and resources)
  • Assist with the review and preparation of application packets and the organization/execution of onsite and virtual interview processes:
  • Learn and use multiple student recruitment, admissions, and SDM business applications and technologies (i.e., WebAdmit system, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, campus student information systems, HireRight) to execute assigned administrative responsibilities (i.e., background checks, resource, file management, student profiles, reviewing student matriculation and deposit process)
  • Oversee and coordinate student compliance for assigned student dental programs; ensure incoming dental students and annual immunizations (i.e., TB, flu shot) and certification records (i.e., BLS, first aid, glucometer, HIPPA) are completed within school timelines and deadlines.
  • Develop and evaluate strategic recruitment initiatives; analyze and evaluate current recruitment initiatives and communicate recommendations to department leadership.
  • Design and organize student on-site and/or virtual interview process.
  • Manage and update dental application resources and tools (i.e., application materials, recruitment materials, online recruitment webpages).
  • Provide support for planning, organizing, and execution of various SDM events (i.e., recruitment interview days, onboarding and orientation, annual commencement ceremony, annual student awards banquet, and annual White Coat Ceremony, student affair events); collaborate with various steering committees for each SDM event in event planning, logistics and/or participation.
  • Organize and coordinate various student programs and services that support student engagement and wellness (i.e., stress management workshops, health fairs)
