About The Position

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking an Admissions and Records Officer (CS26-268) to evaluate credentials for undergraduate admission eligibility, prepare and analyze records, and serve as a professional specialist in Admissions/Records activities. This role involves training staff, interpreting admission policies, counseling applicants on academic requirements, and cooperating with admissions leadership. The position actively participates in student recruitment events, composes written materials for the admissions process, and requires a thorough understanding of university admission policies and guidelines to ensure timely enrollment and meet departmental goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years (36 months) of coursework in any discipline (30 semester hours = 1 year, 60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree = 18 months, 90 semester hours = 2 years, 120 semester hours or Bachelor's degree = 3 years) OR work experience in administrative support, admissions and enrollment, customer service, public relations, records management, or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate credentials to determine eligibility for admission for all undergraduate applicants to the University.
  • Prepare and analyze records.
  • Serve as a professional specialist in Admissions/Records activities.
  • Train staff in assigned duties.
  • Serve as a specialist with the Admissions/Records functions.
  • Interpret admission policies and procedures.
  • Counsel and advise applicants on University academic requirements.
  • Cooperate with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions/Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions/Admissions/Records Coordinator pertaining to admissions and records policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in prospective/new student activities across campus.
  • Compose written materials related to assigned duties by participating in the formulation of departmental procedures, manuals, etc. to aid in the admission process.
  • Ensure the Admissions Office meets its goals and the timeliness of the enrollment process.
