About The Position

Franklin County Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for an Admission Supervisor/Financial Consultant. This position is for full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The Admission Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining Admission Clerk schedules, interviewing prospective employees, and coordinating training for the Admissions staff. The Patient Accounts/Financial Consultant will speak with patients regarding account payments, outstanding balances, and payment terms, and communicate with collection agencies. This role requires multi-tasking, extensive customer service skills, the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment, and integrity in maintaining confidential information.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Requires multi-tasking, extensive customer service skills, and the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced working environment.

• Convey a positive, professional image and attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years college preferred.
• One (1) year prior experience in a hospital or Physician’s office preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and commercial, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Admission Clerk schedules.
• Review resumes and interview prospective employees.
• Coordinate training for Admissions staff.
• Supervise admissions staff, including staffing, training, discipline, and time off requests.
• Provide 24/7 admissions coverage for the Emergency Department.
• Speak to patients in person or by phone regarding account payments, outstanding balances, and setting up payment terms.
• Communicate with collection agencies regarding updates on account balances in bad debt.
