About The Position

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the university in meeting its strategic enrollment goals and fulfilling the UCF Strategic Plan. It is responsible for coordinating the identification, recruitment, admission and enrollment of all undergraduate first-time-in-college, transfer, non-degree, dual enrollment, early admission and non-Florida public institution transient students. The office leverages the UCF brand to market, communicate and engage with talented and academically qualified students who will enrich our community and achieve academic and personal excellence. The Admissions and Records Coordinator I will support the residency classification process for admitted undergraduate students. The coordinator will evaluate and process Florida residency determinations for tuition purposes, apply applicable state statutes and documentation requirements, and serve as a resource for students, families, and the UCF community. The Admissions and Records Coordinator will collaborate with the team and supervisor to meet operational goals and support the University Residency Appeal Committee process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

  • Familiarity with undergraduate academic levels and credentials
  • Experience with residency verification processes, including knowledge of applicable state statutes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes residency classification for admitted undergraduate students, including initial determination of Florida residency status for tuition purposes.
  • Codes residency status in accordance with applicable state regulations, including Florida residency statutes and BCIS documentation requirements for students with international status.
  • Corresponds with applicants regarding incomplete or missing residency documentation and updates student files accordingly.
  • Maintains thorough working knowledge of Florida state regulations governing residency classification for tuition purposes.
  • Applies BCIS rules related to documentation of international status when processing residency determinations.
  • Responds to high volumes of inquiries via email, telephone, and in-person interactions from applicants, students, parents, academic counselors, and members of the UCF community regarding residency classification.
  • Collaborates with supervisor to compile and prepare student files for review by the University Residency Appeal Committee.
  • Partners with team members to track, maintain, and meet daily operational counts and productivity goals in coordination with direct supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which may include participation in overtime as needed.
