About The Position

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing and processing weekly payroll. This role is also responsible for the set up and termination of employees, maintain pay rates, on-going employee maintenance, and union reporting. Additionally, the Payroll Administrator will assist the Payroll Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining payroll policies, procedures, and forms.

Requirements

  • A degree from an accredited college/university is preferred or 2+ years of payroll processing experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing using a major payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Paycor, Workday, Gusto, Paychex, OnPay, SurePayroll, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (Vlookup & pivot tables)
  • Detailed oriented with ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy
  • Quickly and easily adapt to change and shifting priories with enthusiasm
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven and fast paced environment
  • High level of integrity with the ability to maintain complete confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • ADP Time & Attendance experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for 1200+ salaried and hourly union and non-union employees (11 payrolls-3 union, 8 non-union)
  • Review employees’ time input for accuracy and compliance with union rules and labor laws by using ADP
  • Audit payroll entries for discrepancies before submitted payroll
  • Provide union monthly reporting to union contacts
  • Maintain all payroll records in accordance with State and Federal requirements
  • Ability to respond to employee inquires and complex issues
  • Receive, respond, and process wage assignments, court ordered garnishments, tax levies, bankruptcies, employment verifications, and unemployment claims
  • Manage all employment verifications
  • Assist with payroll related projects as required
