About The Position

Under the supervision of the Chief Psychologist, this position has the primary responsibilities of supervising and coordinating the Health Service Psychology internship and Postdoctoral Residency Program at Southwest Behavioral Health as the designated Training Director. Maintaining organization membership in APPIC and accreditation by APA. Coordination of other clinical training activities at the Behavioral Health Professional level. The Administrator of Clinical Education is responsible for implementing the vision, mission, and program design of Southwest Behavioral Health’s clinical education programs designed in partnership with the Chief Psychologist and Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

  • Must be able to provide quality clinical consultation/supervision to staff and trainees regarding a range of member populations including adults, adolescents and children
  • Required to have knowledge of issues affecting general mental health and SMI populations and effective/evidence based clinical interventions.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum requirement consists of a 21-year age.
  • PH.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Clinical Psychology or a related field from an APA accredited program.
  • Current unrestricted AZ Psychology License required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Licensed Psychologist
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by Department of Public Safety or ability to obtain upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years providing supervision for psychology interns highly preferred.
  • Experience working in an APA accredited training program
  • Experience working in an APPIC member program
  • Knowledge of the APA Standards of Accreditation
  • Knowledge of the APPIC member criteria
  • One year providing supervision for psychology trainees

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group supervision to doctoral psychology interns, practicum students, and post-doctoral residents.
  • Develops, implements, and manages clinical activities such as psychological testing and assessment, throughout departments in partnership with program leadership and executive management.
  • Coordinates the Health Service Psychology Postdoctoral Residency Program annual match process
  • Coordinates weekly psychology Colloquium.
  • Coordinates and establishes relationships with professional University based clinical training programs.
  • Maintains organization membership in APPIC and APA accreditation.
  • Ensures a high-quality professional training experience for professional students in training.
  • Develops professional conferences and training events as required.
  • Attends/serves on SB&H and health plan committees as assigned or requested including the Committee for Clinical Excellence meetings as needed
  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.
