The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) is a significant revenue generator for the State of Maryland, supporting vital state programs and services. The agency oversees the state's casino gaming program, providing guidance on financial, security, regulatory, and licensing procedures. It also regulates Sports Wagering, Daily Fantasy Sports, Electronic Bingo, and Instant Ticket Lottery Machines. Gaming in Maryland is a dynamic, 24/7 operation. This position will work with the Manager of the Regulatory Licensing and Investigations Division to ensure compliance with unit policies, COMAR, and state law. The role involves first-line supervision of Licensing Specialists, requiring a strong background in supervising criminal, fraud, or financial investigations. The incumbent must have significant experience in report writing, oral presentations, and testifying in various proceedings. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive investigations for gaming, sports wagering, and Instant Bingo licensure applicants, analyzing FBI/CJIS reports, and interpreting results for suitability. A working knowledge of Maryland Gaming and Sports Wagering Laws, COMAR, and Division policies is essential. The role involves interviewing applicants and references, examining financial documents, and providing testimony at hearings and court. Travel within Maryland, the US, and abroad may be required. The position also requires maintaining knowledge of the Mandatory Exclusion Program and license revocation processes, and providing guidance to the assigned team.
