The OSP Administrator II is expected to work at either the technical or non-technical competency level indicated for their respective area of either pre-award, post-award, or contracts. This role supports faculty members and department administrators in the various stages of grant and/or contract life cycle. The position requires knowledge and understanding of institutional cost policies and multiple funding agency guidelines, including federal, state, private foundations, and associations, and their application to budgets throughout the grant and/or contract life cycle. A strong understanding of all systems and applications used for data storage and retrieval is necessary, as well as an understanding of the negotiation and documentation process for each stage of the grant and/or contract life cycle. The Administrator will review financial information to ensure compliance with institution and granting agency requirements, providing assistance to stakeholders. Advanced understanding of when to consult with institutional management and/or the Legal Department regarding contract language, financial matters, and post-execution monitoring of agreements is expected. The role requires advanced knowledge to support and guide stakeholders for grants and/or contracts entered into by the institution, with a strong desire to gain additional knowledge and expertise. The Administrator will also fulfill reporting requirements for awarded grants and/or contracts, represent and promote the institution's research activities at meetings, and demonstrate mastery of advanced skills to record, report, review, and reconcile grant budgets and expenditures for compliance. Maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders and providing support throughout the grants and/or contracts life cycle is crucial. The role also involves assisting with the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures related to grant and contract administration, and performing other related duties.
