About The Position

Under the direction of a Regional Enforcement Supervisor, this position will conduct both announced and unannounced field inspections of licensed cannabis growers, processors, and dispensaries. Inspections are conducted throughout the State of Maryland to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, security, and regulatory standards which govern the cultivation, processing, and sale of cannabis. This position will inspect equipment, facilities, files, records, and operational practices. This position will also review employee, financial, inventory, and sales data to verify compliance with State of Maryland laws and regulations. This position will require frequent Statewide travel, as well as strong attention to detail; excellent analytical and organizational skills; and the ability to prepare clear, accurate and comprehensive compliance and investigative reports. Furthermore, this position will work collaboratively with other investigators and staff members within the Maryland Cannabis Administration's Office of Compliance and Regulation to identify compliance issues, support enforcement actions, and promote regulatory consistency. Therefore, this position will be responsible for additional duties, including conducting licensing and background investigations; maintaining licensing case files; and tracking spreadsheets. This position will also be responsible for performing the pre-licensing inspections of facility buildouts and documenting any findings which support licensing and enforcement decisions.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Four years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
  • Frequent Statewide travel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and comprehensive compliance and investigative reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other investigators and staff members.
  • Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
