About The Position

The Administrator, Eye Institute Surgery Center holds comprehensive administrative responsibility for all functions of the Surgery Center(s). This includes overseeing basic accounting, budgeting, productivity monitoring, personnel administration, and managing equipment and supplies necessary for service provision. The role is critical in enforcing compliance with the organization's mission, goals, policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, including Medicare, OSHA, HIPAA, and Corporate Compliance. The Administrator ensures all standards for state licensure of the Surgery Center(s) and AAAHC accreditation are maintained and evaluates the quality of service delivered to all customer groups. This position requires collaborative work with physicians, hospital administrators, and other health system employees.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Three years of management experience in a health care setting

Responsibilities

  • Develop goals and objectives for the department and administer policies, procedures, and departmental processes.
  • Prepare departmental scorecard information based on the strategic plan.
  • Manage all clinical, financial, and personnel functions of the Ambulatory Surgery Center(s).
  • Ensure compliance with all federal regulations applicable to ASCs (including Medicare ASC Conditions of Participation, OSHA, HIPAA), accreditation standards (AAAHC), state ASC licensure requirements, and CDC Infection Control guidelines.
  • Develop new policies and procedures and review current ones annually.
  • Prepare the annual budget and all agendas with supporting documents for quarterly and special meetings of the Board of Directors and other committees.
  • Oversee credentialing, appointment, and reappointment of all Medical and Allied Health staff, and approval of on-site students.
  • Review and update Medical Staff Bylaws in collaboration with attorneys and physician committees to ensure compliance with regulatory and licensure requirements.
  • Develop, implement, oversee, and annually update the Quality Assessment and Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Oversee the Safety Program.
  • Maintain custody of all official documents in locked file rooms or office.
  • Evaluate equipment purchases and new services for feasibility, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Utilize external professionals such as attorneys, CPAs, and consultants as needed.
  • Effectively communicate delegated responsibilities to subordinates to foster a productive and supportive staff.
  • Utilize proper channels of communication to keep Administration updated on problems/needs related to patient care, clinical personnel, allied health personnel, and surgeons.
  • Assess complex situations, financial reports, and staffing to improve operations and profitability.
  • Coordinate the planning and changing of programs/services to meet patient care/nursing staff needs and nursing informational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
