About The Position

The Applications Systems Administrator I is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the organization's IBM i (Power Systems) environment and associated enterprise applications. This role partners with IT leadership to support infrastructure strategy, application lifecycle management, system performance, high availability, and disaster recovery initiatives. The Applications Systems Administrator ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of core business systems while providing technical expertise for system upgrades, implementations, and operational support.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with HMC, BRMS, QEDD
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality results
  • Ability to script and query database using SQL

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize the performance, availability, and reliability of IBMi Power Systems.
  • Manage system resources, performance tuning, capacity planning, and operational health to support business requirements.
  • Monitor application performance and resolve issues impacting system functionality or user experience.
  • Administer and support Infor OS, Infor LX, and other business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Partner with IT leadership to define hardware, software, and platform roadmaps that support business objectives.
  • Plan and execute hardware and software lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patches, maintenance, and system refresh initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate IBMi operating system upgrade planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Manage system access, user accounts, and security roles to ensure appropriate authorization and access controls.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IBM i systems and associated applications. Coordinate disaster recovery exercises and validate recovery objectives and procedures.
  • Administer high-availability and replication technologies, including QEDD, to ensure system resilience and data protection.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams to support projects, integrations, and system improvements.
