Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Requirements

  • AAS degree in a business-related area or equivalent work experience
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and smart phone technology

Responsibilities

  • Manage calendars, schedules, and meeting agendas, including coordinating appointments and meetings with internal teams, Corning stakeholders, external partners, customers, and visitors.
  • Lead and coordinate plant administrative activities, including staff meetings, plant calendars, employee events, celebrations, and site-wide communications.
  • Arrange complex domestic and international travel, including itineraries, agendas, visas, accommodations, and logistics for leaders, staff, customers, and visitors.
  • Prepare, edit, and maintain presentations, reports, graphs, correspondence, and confidential or restricted documents with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain organized hard copy and electronic filing systems, updated contact and location lists, and conference room and workspace calendars, including setup changes for new hires and departures.
  • Support plant operations by coordinating facility visits, managing office and breakroom supplies within budget, and partnering with facilities and cleaning staff to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
  • Process administrative and financial support activities such as mail handling, post office box management, supply ordering, and routing appropriation requests for required corporate approvals through DocuSign or Finance coordination.
