With a rich history of mergers and expansions over the decades, including the most recent formation in 2018 from the merger of the Building Stone Institute and Marble Institute of America, NSI continues to be an essential resource for the industry. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be providing administrative support to our staff, managing communications, and assisting with various special projects, all while contributing to our mission of promoting the value and benefits of natural stone. This position is based in our Oberlin, Ohio office. Requirements

  • Proven experience in administrative or office support roles, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office software.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently when needed.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across various departments to ensure effective operations.
  • Handle communication with members and stakeholders through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Maintain filing systems and manage document organization in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, events, and travel arrangements for staff members.
  • Support the development and implementation of office processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Perform data entry and maintain databases to ensure accurate records and information availability.
