About The Position

The School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and external visitors, providing front desk reception and general administrative support. The Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for processing faculty and student travel requests and vouchers; planning, coordinating, and scheduling school-related meetings, events, and functions; and assisting with the maintenance of IEM calendars and service accounts. This position also supports departmental communication efforts by helping to maintain and update website content, social media accounts, marketing materials, and the departmental newsletter. Additionally, the role assists in maintaining departmental records related to current students and alumni. The work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Friday, as necessary to perform job duties and complete work assignments.

Requirements

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 1 year of clerical/customer service experience (for Administrative Support Specialist I)
  • 2 years of clerical/customer service experience (for Administrative Support Specialist II)
  • 3 years of clerical/customer service experience (for Senior Administrative Support Specialist)
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, visitors, students and all campus support areas.
  • Ability to work independently, using judgement and initiative.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Computer skills include: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc), and database software.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
  • Completion of Ambassador Program after hire.
  • 8 years experience in clerical and customer service.
