About The Position

The School of Teacher Education (STE) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Support Coordinator I to serve as the welcoming face of the department and a key player in supporting its credential and Master's programs. This role involves front desk coordination, administrative operations, event and facility support, technology and website maintenance, academic and faculty support, and specific support for the credential and Master's programs.

Requirements

  • Fully functional knowledge and skill in standard office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages.
  • High school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
  • Experience providing administrative or customer service support in an office or similar setting.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics, such as scheduling meetings or arranging travel.
  • Proficiency with commonly used office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with online collaboration tools, such as Google Docs and Forms.
  • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic.
  • Experience using online survey or data collection tools (e.g., Qualtrics or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of or experience working in mission-driven, educational, or public service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, respond to inquiries, and share department information at the front desk.
  • Process purchases, travel reimbursements, and create basic documents and reports.
  • Assist in planning events, managing space moves, inventory, and key requests.
  • Track technology equipment and update the department website.
  • Upload syllabi, assist with RTP (Recruitment, Tenure, and Promotion), and manage internal elections.
  • Schedule interviews, send registration materials, and track student progress for the Credential Program.
  • Support MA advisors and coordinate surveys and compensation for guide teachers for the Master’s Program.
