About The Position

Under general supervision, the Administrative Support Coordinator I serves as the assistant to the Cooper-Woodson College (CWC) Program Director and provides administrative and clerical support through successful coordination of projects, events, and activities while being cognizant of deadlines. Responsible for the day-to-day office coordination, providing lead work direction to an Administrative Support Assistant II and student assistant. The incumbent assists the Director with all aspects of budget transactions; responsible for processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate fiscal records. This position ensures that excellent customer service is provided to all students, faculty, staff, and other visitors to the Program.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems and packages.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
  • Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
  • Working knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.
  • Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
  • Ability to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts in a diverse environment, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to complete the background check process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an institution of higher education.
  • Experience providing administrative/clerical support in a university environment.
  • Knowledge of Sacramento State software applications such as PeopleSoft/Common Management System (CMS).
  • Knowledge of University infrastructure, policies/procedures, financial record-keeping, and payroll.
