Performs diversified clerical duties related to the operational needs of the office/department. This role involves handling high-volume inbound calls professionally, managing patient inquiries, and ensuring accurate data entry into the EMR and practice management system. The position requires verifying insurance information and responding to patient portal messages and voicemail requests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diversified clerical duties which may include, but are not limited to: Typing various correspondence, reports, articles; Greeting and directing visitors; Answering telephones, taking messages, directing intercom pages; Scheduling appointments/meetings; Maintaining department/office files, record keeping, patient record filing; Taking meeting minutes; Collecting payments; Keeping inventory and ordering supplies for the department/office; Performs related duties as required.
  • Answer high-volume inbound calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Manage incoming and outbound calls while meeting established service level standards.
  • Triage calls and route patients appropriately according to clinical and operational workflows.
  • Handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, provider availability, procedures, medical records, prescriptions, and billing concerns.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR.
  • Respond to patient portal messages and voicemail requests within established turnaround times.
  • Ensure insurance information is entered correctly into the electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referral requirements, and prior authorization status.
