About The Position

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. OIG has five Divisions, Division of Regulated Child Care, Division of Health Care, Certificate of Need, KY Health Information Exchange, and Division of Audits and Investigations. These Divisions cover a wide variety of job tasks and duties in varied settings throughout Kentucky, which include inspecting and licensing childcare and healthcare facilities and services, and conducting investigations of complaints in those facilities, as well as conducting Medicaid fraud and other types of complaints for the Cabinet. This position provides professional administrative support to the Regional Program Manager and the Human Services Program Branch Manager of the Division of Health Care, Northern Enforcement Branch, Louisville (Jefferson Co), KY.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Proficiency with use of computers and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs for daily tasks.
  • Highly organized individual and experience managing a large case load are preferred.
  • Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Processes complex federal and state survey packets for the Division of Health Care.
  • Assists the Complaint Coordinator by taking referrals/allegations from the public.
  • Conducts new employee orientation in the enforcement branches and ensures new hire packet is completed and submitted timely.
  • Monitors the completion of staff training and ensures training certificates have been filed.
  • Serves as a liaison between the agency, providers, and community to respond to questions and concerns.
  • Contacts potential candidates for employment, schedules interviews and provides email confirmation for appointments.
  • Serves as time administrator for the branch.
  • Answers incoming calls and disseminates them to appropriate staff.
  • Responsible for mail handling and distributing mail for the office.
