Primary Role:
Provides professional support to the Kentucky State Police Legal Advisor in implementing and maintaining complex programs, projects, or activities.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Responsibilities

• Calendaring and updating legal caseload including scheduling for five attorneys.
• Maintaining and updating the contingency liability report for the cabinet as well as being the liaison to the cabinet on pending cases.
• Answering incoming calls directed to the legal branch and directing communications to the legal branch.
• Processes court related information and handles communication from trial boards including drafting subpoenas for witnesses. Reserves courtrooms for trials and schedules court reporters.
• Manages Giglio requests and responses to include receiving from the U.S. Attorney, determining subject area and requesting the individuals in question’s record.
