About The Position

The Division of Emergency Management is hiring an Administrative Specialist Senior. Primary Role: Provides high-level professional administrative support with Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) and support staff regarding the usage of the warehouse, equipment and vehicles. Performs duties in the oversight with plans, implements and monitors the program data, as well as prepares reports for agency staff for compliance with legal, regulatory or policy standards. Develop and implements plans and procedures to support comprehensive state resources during disasters and non-disaster times. Performs in-depth analysis of program support needs and recommends policy and or procedural modifications.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, organization and maintenance of Kentucky Emergency Management's (KYEM) warehouses, equipment, vehicles, and supplies during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Track the assignment, procure, mobilization and demobilization of resources during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities, resource needs, resource locations, program data and analyze data.
  • Plan and maintain the logistics process of Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) use within the State Operations Center (SEOC).
  • Ensure an effective statewide system of resource support and logistical management exists in support of local logistical and resource needs during an emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Ability to move trailers, equipment and supplies inside and outside of warehouses during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Support and fills the logistics section chief role within the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during activation, exercises or planning activations.
