About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented Administrative Specialist 2 for the Human Resources department in the Essex Vicinage. The position involves supporting HR functions, including recruitment, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, and payroll processing. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply. If selected, the applicant must complete their degree no later than their start date.
  • Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in HR staff meetings.
  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process through NeoGov, including creating job postings, qualifying resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Ensure all recruitment tasks are monitored and performed timely and efficiently.
  • Assist with benefits and leave related matters, including conducting benefit orientations, handling leave request meetings, reviewing and making recommendations on FMLA/FLA, donated leave requests, and worker's compensation claims.
  • Process disability paperwork and benefit pre-payments for employees on leave of absence.
  • Authorize FMLA and leave requests in eCATS and process PMIS transactions for leaves.
  • Process and monitor all employee relations matters.
  • Schedule discipline hearings and prepare discovery information for management and the Hearing Officer.
  • Process regular and supplemental payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Track employee timesheets in eCATS and generate timesheet reports in business objects.
  • Communicate with management, Judges, and staff regarding compliance with deadlines.
  • Calculate and review salary increase spreadsheets.
  • Prepare and process all PMIS and JHRIS transactions.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
