About The Position

Join our dynamic team at the Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) as an experienced and strategic Administrative Services Director IV, otherwise known as the Chief Operating Officer.  In this role, you will lead and coordinate high-level administrative, operational, and personnel functions across the agency. This position serves as a key member of ANR's leadership team and provides executive direction over facilities, information technology, telecommunications, personnel administration, operational support functions and internal operations to ensure effective support of the Agency's environmental and public service mission.  The position provides stability and consistency during times of leadership transition.   You'll work closely with the secretary and their deputy, commissioners, division directors, the Agency Secretary's Office as well as many other statewide partners to ensure efficient operations, excellent coordination across state government and compliance with state policies and regulations. Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting, business or public administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
  • Bachelor's degree AND six (6) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
  • High School diploma or equivalent AND ten (10) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
  • One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Director III with the State of Vermont.
  • NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).
  • For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
