About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Treasury has one Administrative Program Specialist A vacancy located in the Unclaimed Property Division. This position is responsible for assisting in the enforcement of the unclaimed property statutes by coordinating and assigning compliance examinations performed by third-party audit firms and managing ongoing examinations.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
  • The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Manages unclaimed property audits conducted by third-party contingency fee based audit firms.
  • Presents potential candidates for Treasurer for approval
  • Composes and mails notice of examination letters to holders selected for audit.
  • Works with audit firms when necessary to address compliance questions.
  • Confers with District Attorney and Executive Counsel when necessary.
  • Reviews and reconciles completed audit reports.
  • Creates and maintains a database of holders under audit.
  • Reviews incoming unclaimed property reports submitted by holders.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
