About The Position

We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of the Administrative Officer I , so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS! The main purpose of this position is provide administrative support to the Community Staff, CMS Supervisor, Case Management Program Supervisor, and Regional Director in a specific region and coordinate the operation of the secretarial office. Some key responsibilities of this position may include, but not be limited, to the following: This position is eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in access and utilizing Assist, Safe Measures and MDEC.
  • Knowledgeable usage of Microsoft Windows application.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Completes typing assignments accurately, completely and within prescribed time limits, composes correspondence to include but not limited to court memos, emails, appointment letters and SHI’s.
  • Provides secretarial support to include compiling monthly CMS stats, creating monthly calendar for supervisor reviews, typing court reports and updating court calendar.
  • Establishes and maintains and organized filing system.
