The Administrative Nursing Supervisor provides leadership toward fulfilling the mission by providing operational support and ensuring quality of patient care delivery according to the nursing process. As a RN Supervisor, you will be responsible for off-shift/or weekend management of Nursing Department and hospital operations in the absence of Care Unit administration and department managers. You will coordinate off-shift and/or weekend operations, including staffing, clinical practice, resource utilization, and personnel management. You will respond to all Care Unit Problems and/or situations that develop in the absence of the Care Unit administration and department managers to promote optimal operations and issue resolution; assures verbal and written follow-up. You will also respond to telecommunications media by notification of Corporate Communications Department and on-call Care Unit administrator, and work in consultation with the administrator on-call for unusual situations/sentinel events. Additionally, you will assume leadership role in the implementation and coordination of hospital emergency procedures, and collaborate with other Care Unit leadership, physicians, medical directors and colleagues to promote interdisciplinary activities and implementation of strategic initiatives. You will ensure interdepartmental and interdisciplinary communication, teamwork and collaborations with all supporting departments and designated liaisons in the achievement of the Care Unit and nursing goals and objectives. You will demonstrate ability to organize work and manage time effectively by completing assignments in the allotted time. You will promote effective working relationships through timely, accurate communication among colleagues and between departments and disciplines. You will keep informed on current operations through participation in Nursing and Care Unit meetings, committees, work groups, and through verbal and written communications. You will communicate the importance of patient satisfaction and champion priorities for improving performance. You will contribute to building physicians and interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration by keeping colleagues informed and communicating effectively. You will serve as a member of various Care Unit and Nursing committees as required.
