The Administrative Nurse Manager (ANM) for the ICU oversees and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. The ANM directs and coordinates patient and unit activities in an environment that supports excellence. The ANM also ensures the continued delivery of quality care, in compliance with MMC policies, standards, and facilitates patient throughput. The ANM maintains standards of practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. The ANM actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The ANM participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The ANM demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served. This position is accountable for managing all clinical administrative functions for patient care delivery (fiscal, material, and human resources) of nursing unit(s) within a Care Center on a 24-hour basis. The position is responsible to create an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged, and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care, professional interdisciplinary collaboration, communication, and teamwork, which enables care delivery to the customers and community to improve health and wellness. The position is responsible to uphold compliance with Montefiore Medical Center's policies/procedures, service excellence standards, and regulatory requirements.
