About The Position

The Administrative Manager is a key member of the Office of the CIO in NYU IT. The incumbent manages projects, program development, budgets, and strategic initiatives for NYU IT, and provides executive assistance for NYU IT leadership. The Administrative Manager may represent IT leadership at select meetings, oversee projects and initiatives on behalf of leadership, and execute scheduling and communications. The Administrative Manager will be tasked with creating and developing department-wide strategies, capturing and analyzing data, calendaring, budgeting, and event vendor and contract management. They will serve as an escalation point between NYU IT and University partners, including Finance, HR, Procurement, Campus Safety, Facilities, and more. The Administrative Manager provides a variety of office management support, including creating and maintaining reports and resources, managing inventories, and developing NYU IT’s tech-focused community. The Administrative Manager must effectively take initiative and be able to act autonomously to identify problems and create unique solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience providing principal management support to executive leaders in a large and complex organization
  • Experience with special event planning, office management, purchasing, data analysis, and supervising staff
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels
  • Ability to act professionally and confidentially with all levels of employees and outside groups, and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects
  • Ability to take initiative and manage various tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to generate creative ideas, work independently, and support NYU IT leadership with content preparation
  • Ability to manage budgets
  • Knowledge of advanced functions for Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications
