About The Position

The Administrative Fellowship Program is designed to foster the development of management and leadership skills in individuals committed to a career in healthcare administration. The Fellow will receive hands-on practical experience in operational, organizational, and financial management aspects of an Independent Healthcare System. The Fellow will be offered opportunities to share ideas, develop a personalized development plan, and support departmental efforts through guided professional experiences with an assigned mentor and various preceptors. The Fellow will work with various Lexington Medical Center Physician Practices, LMC Hospital Departments, and Community Medical Centers with their leadership. The Fellowship is for one year.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Health Services Management, Public Health or Related Field
  • Theoretical knowledge of the healthcare delivery system
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with special projects and activities as directed/assigned by Leadership.
  • Represent the Fellowship program in various meetings and other department forums.
  • Participate in various focus groups or committees to assist with project management and strategic planning.
  • Complete projects and day-to-day tasks including but not limited to areas of: Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Operation Management, Risk and Compliance, Patient-Centered Care, Quality Management.
  • Be exposed to opportunities of decision making, negotiating and team management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and adhere to LMC Service Expectations.
  • Communicate information appropriately to all age groups.
  • Be responsive to all patients, employee and physician requests and needs as directed while in a practice/department/project rotation.
  • Perform duties assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency, e.g., fire or disaster.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Work directly with the assigned Physician Network or Hospital Operations Team in establishing goals and objectives and follow them through to completion.
  • Attend and complete a scheduled sequence of educational classes provided by Staff Development, the Hospital Operations Team and/or the Physician Network.
