Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current BLS at hire or transfer until ACLS obtained. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
  • Current and ongoing ACLS, PALS, NYS RN License.
  • CPI initial training (2 day course) within 3 months of hire
  • CPI refresher annually
  • Five (5) years of acute clinical experience required.
  • Travel to multiple facilities is required.
  • Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility.
  • No routine exposure to hazards.
  • Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
  • Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
  • Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing Administration preferred.
  • ANCC approved certification required when eligible.
  • Experience in a supervisory or administrative role preferred.
  • May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides staff supervision, to assure overall functioning of the nursing department and compliance with the established standards of care during the evening/night and 24 hour weekend tours of duty.
  • Problem solves at the administrative level in consultation with the hospital administrator or designee.
  • Facilitates/provides the necessary essential services of other support departments whose services are limited during the evening/night weekends tour of duty.
