About The Position

This role leads the development and implementation of sustainable business and organizational models for the Hematology Oncology service line. The Administrative Director aligns service line business units, clinical disciplines, and providers to advance strategic programmatic development. This involves working with executive and clinical leadership, marketing, and business development teams to identify, develop, and implement new and enhanced inpatient and outpatient clinical programs and services to achieve growth goals. The position also involves developing service line outreach strategic plans, ensuring alignment with operational and capital budgeting, facilities development, and long-range master planning. Additionally, it includes establishing marketing and promotional programs, overseeing staffing models, recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development. The role drives the creation of innovative programs and services, supports academic endeavors, and develops strategic goals, annual objectives, and performance improvement plans. It also establishes the administrative infrastructure for cancer research initiatives. In terms of operations and financial management, the Administrative Director provides administrative and operational oversight of all people, programs, and sites within the service line, collaborating with clinical leaders to develop and meet budget goals. This includes recommending staffing and resources, developing and implementing policies, and collaborating with physician and nurse leaders for quality, cost-effective care. The role monitors clinical operations, quality improvement, and revenue cycle processes, and participates in service excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. It also identifies opportunities for operational efficiency and system changes, and builds a high-performing management team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning, while supporting the integration of research and academic programs with clinical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of sustainable business and organizational models, aligning service line business units, clinical disciplines, and providers to advance strategic programmatic development.
  • Identifies, develops and implements new and enhanced existing inpatient and outpatient clinical programs and services to achieve growth goals.
  • Develops service line outreach strategic plans.
  • Ensures that strategic and program planning for service line initiatives are linked to operational and capital budgeting processes, as well as facilities development and long-range master planning.
  • Establishes marketing and promotional programs that enhance awareness and preference for clinical services among key customer constituencies.
  • Oversees staffing models, recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development to support high-quality care and programmatic growth.
  • Drives the creation and implementation of innovative programs, services, and supports academic endeavors that elevate the Nemours brand and patient experience.
  • Develops and implements strategic goals, annual objectives, and performance improvement plans aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Establishes the administrative infrastructure to support the development of Nemours Central Florida, state, and/or enterprise-wide cancer research initiatives.
  • Provides administrative and operational oversight of all people, programs, and sites organized within the service line.
  • Develops, monitors and meets the operational and capital budget financial goals for all areas of responsibility encompassed by service line.
  • Recommends a sufficient number of qualified/competent people and other resources (including space) to provide necessary services, support all sites and initiatives, and to accommodate planned growth.
  • Develops, interprets, and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
  • Collaborates effectively with physician and nurse leaders to deliver quality care in a family centered model in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Monitors clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, and revenue cycle processes to ensure adherence to efficiency benchmarks, including charge capture and delays, RVU productivity, and timely, accurate chart documentation.
  • Participates in the organization’s service excellence and continuous improvement mission.
  • Identifies and leads opportunities for operational efficiency, innovation, and system changes based on analysis of provided data and market trends.
  • Builds a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive management team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
