About The Position

This is a part-time, in-office/on-site Administrative Assistant position supporting MWR staff, Soldiers, Airmen, military families, retirees, authorized patrons, and the public. The role involves providing administrative support, assisting with MWR programs and operations, drafting and reviewing written materials, organizing records, extracting data for reports, coordinating schedules, resolving customer inquiries, compiling data for program improvements, and potentially supervising administrative staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus professional experience in administrative, clerical, or office coordination support.
  • Proven capability to review documents for accuracy, evaluate data against policy standards, and resolve procedural difficulties.
  • Professional proficiency in oral and written English, including correct grammar, spelling, and sentence composition.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal history check.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience working with military support structures, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs, or community services.
  • Working experience operating point-of-sale (POS), scheduling, financial, or database software systems.
  • Prior experience in supervisory or lead administrative roles.
  • Proven track record drafting standard operating procedures, formal memorandums, and operational reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and direct customer service to MWR staff, Soldiers, Airmen, military families, retirees, authorized patrons, and the public.
  • Assist with the administration of MWR programs, facility operations, services, events, and revenue-generating activities.
  • Draft, process, and review written materials—including formal correspondence, memorandums, administrative reports, public announcements, and standard operating procedures—for accuracy, logical consistency, and policy compliance.
  • Organize and maintain administrative records, including purchasing documentation, personnel-related files, invoices, correspondence, and operational reports.
  • Extract data from point-of-sale, financial, scheduling, and database systems to construct reports that guide operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate scheduling for facilities, staff members, training sessions, meetings, and agency programs as directed by MWR leadership.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and concerns by researching issues and coordinating directly with appropriate personnel.
  • Compile operational data, evaluate administrative needs, and recommend program improvements to management.
  • Supervise administrative staff members as assigned.
