About The Position

The Administrative Assistant provides secretarial and administrative support for Academy staff and families, ensuring the front office operates efficiently and in alignment with GEE policies. Global Educational Excellence (GEE) operates a network of charter schools across Southeast Michigan focused on academic achievement and community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school information systems
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

  • Associate's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage front office operations: phones, correspondence, filing, copying, supply requisitions, and visitor management
  • Maintain student attendance and grade records in school information systems (e.g., Next K12)
  • Update and monitor student records including CA-60s and other required state/federal documentation
  • Contact families by 9:00 a.m. for unexcused student absences
  • Coordinate school communications to families via mailings, newsletters, and digital platforms
  • Assist with payroll preparation, bookkeeping, and related administrative functions
