About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Support and encourage the well-being of all residents who reside in the higher levels of support. Support residents during their orientation into and from the higher levels of support. The person in this role is also expected to: Uphold and put into daily practice the values of Carol Woods. Support the well-being and quality of life of every individual resident. Function as a good steward of resident resources. Contribute to Carol Woods’ approach to continual quality improvement. Support the concepts of a learning organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of administrative experience required
  • Able to: Bend, stoop, reach, and lift to assist residents.
  • Stand, walk for long periods.
  • Move equipment or small pieces of furniture.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience working with older adults preferred
  • Experience working with people living with dementia preferred

Responsibilities

  • Orient all new residents to the Health Center (function of building, accessing room equipment such as cable TV and call bell, etc.)
  • Complete admission paperwork with resident or power of attorney
  • Coordinate the collection and delivery of resident property for admissions and discharges to and from the Health Center
  • Administrative tasks across the higher levels of support (e.g., resident schedules, deliver mail, discharge surveys, filing, manage paperwork for nurses and CNAs, print photos for new residents, etc.)
  • Maintain a welcoming environment in the Health Center (ensure environment is bright and well-lit, common space clutter, ensure fresh floral arrangements, etc.)
  • Support resident meal service
  • Respond to and problem-solve day-to-day issues and concerns for Health Center residents
  • Respond to call bells as needed
  • Answer phone and route appropriately
  • Provide in-the-moment engagement to residents in a way that honors their preferences
  • Serve as backup to Administrative Coordinator/Staff Scheduler
  • Support community philosophy of cognitive care
  • Complete mandatory online educational modules (monthly and as otherwise assigned)
  • Attend educational sessions, in-services, and staff meetings
  • Involvement/understanding of Organizational Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
  • All other duties as assigned
