Full time: M-F 8:00am to 4:30 pm Reporting to the Clinical Manager of Palliative Care and Dementia GUIDE, performs a broad range of office functions to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of Palliative Care and GUIDE.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical facility or medical office setting.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing communications and coordinating activities in a multi-disciplinary setting. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and agency specific systems and databases required.
  • Proven customer service skills dealing with a health care service provider.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment including the handling of highly confidential medical information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to function as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to telephone inquiries regarding Palliative Care and GUIDE.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities and schedules of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and supportive clinical staff
  • Educate patients, family members, referral sources and others on services provided by Care Dimensions by handling telephone inquiries with program-specific knowledge, efficiency, and compassion.
  • Register patient in electronic medical record, verify insurance and eligibility, and schedule appointments.
  • Provide administrative support to providers including patient assignment, scheduling patient visits, and making follow-up phone calls to patients and families.
  • Effectively collaborate with personnel to achieve timely response to service requests.
  • Complete administrative tasks efficiently, accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Prepare and/or edits document such as letters, reports, forms, policies, charts, presentations, and spreadsheets using MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and other appropriate software.
