About The Position

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Clinical Trials Office and serve as first point of contact for visitors. Will assist with basic regulatory, financial, and general office functions. The University of Kansas Cancer Center is the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center where patients gain access to the most promising therapies, cutting-edge clinical trials and world class research.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant work experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel), including databases, spreadsheets and word-processing software.

  • Experience with medical terminology and/or working in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sort mail; greet visitors; answer and route routine calls; assist with scheduling meetings and meeting logistics; order general office supplies, process invoices and maintain inventory.
  • Assist CTO research labs with ordering research/office supplies and processing invoices.
  • Serve as liaison between the Clinical Trials Office and other Cancer Center locations for information/document sharing via daily courier activities.
  • Assist with the creation of spreadsheets and reports as needed; assist in the creation of presentations or other documents for distribution related to clinical trials.
  • Assist with the calendars of Clinical Trails leadership team and schedule meetings and events.
  • Assist with catering needs for CTO.
  • Assist with planning and organizing annual symposiums.
  • Arrange travel, provide support for CTO members while traveling and process travel reimbursements.
