About The Position

The Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a proactive, detail ‑ oriented Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to staff and group leaders within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The successful candidate will excel in organization, communication, and multitasking, ensuring smooth daily operations and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the OCIO team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time ‑ management abilities.
  • US Citizenship is Legally Required for ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for the OCIO mission.
  • Manage daily office needs and oversee general administrative activities.
  • Perform general office tasks such as ordering supplies, managing office equipment, and coordinating office activities.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems and records.
  • Handle sensitive and classified information with strict confidentiality.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility operations and maintenance, coordinating activities such as fire safety walkdowns, inspections, carpet repairs, furniture replacement, and phone issues.
  • Ensure proper operation of office equipment by performing preventive maintenance, arranging repairs, maintaining inventories, and evaluating new equipment or techniques.
  • Schedule, track, and coordinate meetings, appointments, and conference room reservations.
  • Manage calendars for groups and leaders within the OCIO.
  • Organize and prepare meeting materials.
  • Plan and execute administrative and logistical details for tours, meetings, visits, and classes (including itineraries, badging, escorting, and lunch logistics).
  • Organize and maintain contact lists and manage routine correspondence (emails, memos, letters, and forms).
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics.
  • Prepare, edit, and format correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of reports, presentations, and other documentation, including those containing classified materials.
  • Support the cyclical organization and updating of budget estimates.
  • Support hiring processes by scheduling interviews, organizing interview panels, preparing hiring documentation, and assisting with onboarding of new staff.
  • Handle procurement of supplies and furniture.
  • Coordinate office moves, workspace upgrades, and maintenance needs.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
