About The Position

Employee performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, clerical, financial and other duties to support the operations of the office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in administrative, clerical, financial or secretarial work, preferably in a school environment
  • Knowledge of department regulations, policies, programs and operations
  • Knowledge of office management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of computer systems, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with the public, officials and department personnel
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
  • Ability to establish and maintain a record keeping systems
  • Ability to operate a telephone and standard office equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner
  • Ability to deal tactfully with disgruntled people

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service, receiving calls, visitors, appointments
  • Perform extensive attendance tracking duties using Aspen system
  • Provide administrative, secretarial and clerical assistance to the Dean
  • Schedule and manage appointments and meetings with parents, teachers, administrators and students
  • Serve as liaison for students with questions, concerns
  • Track and monitor obligations for graduation; distribute cap and gowns and cumulative school files and health records
  • Prepare for the start of the school year by providing informational paperwork for each grade; prepare homeroom with appropriate information
  • Track and monitor extensive amounts of information relating to MCAS, AP Tests, special Olympics, field trips and musical events.
  • Assist with truancy by monitoring and flagging concerns, notify and schedule detentions and track compliance
  • Perform a variety of related duties
