The Office of International Initiatives at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a part-time Administrative Assistant (Temp). WHAT MAKES GSU A GREAT PLACE? WHAT WILL YOU DO: This position will assist Study Abroad Programs in daily operations and will serve as point -of-contact for customer-related inquiries. The Administrative Assistant (Temp) will serve as the front-line point of contact for Study Abroad Programs providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The position is responsible for managing the front desk, responding to inquiries across multiple communication channels, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, student-centered environment while supporting the mission of Study Abroad Programs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or one year of administrative customer service, or front-desk experience or combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all walk-in phone, email, and general inquiries related to study abroad programs.
  • Greet students, faculty, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Respond to routine questions regarding study abroad programs, application processes, deadlines, policies, and procedures, and refer to the appropriate staff member when needed.
  • Manage a high volume of inquiries while maintaining accuracy.
  • Provide administrative support to professional staff in collecting study abroad materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.
  • Maintain accurate records in study abroad related software.
  • Provide support in articulating credit transfer.
  • Assist with coordinating workshops, information session, and special events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall goals and operations of Study Abroad Programs.
