About The Position

Connor Co. is seeking a career-minded Administrative Assistant/Showroom Sales backup for a long-term career opportunity in Terre Haute, IN. This role requires a professional individual to manage front desk duties, provide administrative support, and assist with showroom sales functions. Plumbing knowledge is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will be available from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be friendly, have a positive attitude, and have good phone etiquette.
  • Ability to learn the Eclipse software.
  • Critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
  • Mathematical reasoning ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve problems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • Ten-key by touch.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
  • Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
  • Maturity and experience to interface with all levels of management, personnel, and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to determine and prioritize workload.
  • Available from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Greet persons entering the establishment, determine the nature and purpose of the visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
  • Answer incoming calls, screen, and direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain the front desk area in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries daily.
  • Provide collections/billing support, including posting payments and adjustments to customer accounts.
  • Follow up on any problems with payments received.
  • Manage the cash box, ensuring it balances weekly.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • Perform general filing.
  • Conduct data entry, such as entering receiving packing slips and creating flyers.
  • Order office supplies as needed.
  • Provide backup support to the Showroom Sales position, including following up on outstanding quotes and orders, ordering literature, assisting with PowerPoint presentations, attending Showroom meetings/training sessions, and filling in when the primary person is out of the office.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
