About The Position

Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Administrative Assistant/Showroom Sales back-up position in Terre Haute, IN. We are seeking a career-minded person looking for a long-term career with a great company. Plumbing knowledge is preferred but not required. Candidates must be available from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, or its equivalent.
  • Must be friendly, have a positive attitude, and have good phone etiquette.
  • Ability to learn the Eclipse software.
  • Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
  • Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Keyboarding speed of at least 30 WPM, ten-key by touch.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
  • Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
  • Requires maturity and experience to interface with all levels of management, personnel, and customers.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to determine and prioritize workload.

Nice To Haves

  • Plumbing knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet persons entering the establishment, determine the nature and purpose of the visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
  • Answers incoming calls, screens, and directs calls to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain the front desk area in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries daily.
  • Collections/billing support: Post payments and adjustments to customer accounts, follow up on any problems with payments received.
  • Responsible for the cash box, which must balance weekly.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • General filing.
  • Data entry (i.e., enter the receiving packing slips, create flyers, etc.).
  • Orders office supplies as needed.
  • Back-up to the Showroom Sales position (follow-up on outstanding quotes and orders, order literature, assist with PowerPoint presentations, attend Showroom meetings/training sessions, and fill in when out of the office).
  • Perform other duties as requested.
