About The Position

The administrative assistants primary responsibility is providing clerical and administrative support for the Procurement Director and the Purchasing & Receiving employees for the Nation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, with some college, associate’s degree preferred
  • At least three (3) years of experience in an executive office environment
  • Must have a clear understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
  • Must have excellent typing skills and familiar with general office equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Requires a working knowledge of budget, annual plan, annual and bi-annual report analysis and preparation
  • Must have a familiarity with tribal and government programs and the processes involved in their operation
  • Ability to interact with employees, elected officials and constituents in a professional manner
  • Ability to protect the Nation’s values by safeguarding confidential information
  • Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and seek guidance for decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize between projects
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
  • Must have a clean driving record if position requires driving GSA or tribal vehicles
