Administrative Assistant (PCT)
About The Position
DaVita is hiring an Administrative Assistant/ Patient Care Tech to help educate and serve our Home Hemodialysis patients in the Minneapolis, MN area. The position will cross train as a PCT and AA. This role involves processing admission requests, admitting and discharging patients in the computer system, documenting appointments, ordering office supplies, and filing. The Patient Care Technician duties include assisting with patient training for home dialysis, preparing and maintaining dialysis equipment, monitoring patient vitals, and supporting follow-up care and supply tracking. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited certification program
- Personable with excellent computer and clerical skills (Microsoft Office)
- Comfortable with blood, needles and medical equipment
- Willing to train and float across clinics as needed
Nice To Haves
- Job experience in a related administrative position and/or medical setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Process admission requests and follow up with hospitals to assure we have all required documents to accept patients
- Admit and discharge patients in computer system
- Document appointments and follow up with offices to receive appointment notes
- Order office supplies
- Filing, good organizational skills, desire to learn DaVita specific systems quickly
- Prioritize tasks throughout the day/week even when unexpected things happen
- Clear and prompt communication with team, practitioners, and outside partners
- Complete tasks in a timely manner
- Assist with patient training for home dialysis under RN supervision
- Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment
- Monitor and record patient vitals and treatment responses
- Support follow-up care, supply tracking, and telehealth check-ins
- Provide technical and emotional support throughout HHD training
