About The Position

The City of Bothell’s Public Works Department presents an exciting opportunity for administrative experts to join a dedicated, enthusiastic team of professionals in our Administrative Division at the Bothell Operations Center as the next Administrative Assistant, Lead. This position involves acting as a lead to other Administrative Assistants, scheduling and prioritizing work, assigning and coordinating daily activities, training, and applying specific knowledge of department policies and procedures to oversee administrative workflow. The role also includes managing special projects, initiating process improvement initiatives, creating and processing various communications, and supporting records management and retention. A successful candidate will be adaptable, communicate effectively, build trust, take ownership, contribute to an inclusive workplace, collaborate across departments, support sustainability, and integrate feedback constructively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Lead to the Administrative Assistant positions, including scheduling and prioritizing work tasks, assigning and coordinating daily work activities, performing duties within scope of authority, and training.
  • Apply specific knowledge of department policies and procedures to oversee administrative workflow, manage special projects and assignments, and relieve staff of routine administrative detail.
  • Manage special projects and assignments and initiates process improvement initiatives across a wide range of areas, requiring comprehensive knowledge of departmental procedures and policies.
  • Create, edit, and process memoranda, technical documents, and other communications.
  • Support records management and retention initiatives by working with Administrative Assistants to maintain department files.
