About The Position

This full-time Administrative Assistant position in the Laboratory involves managing and participating in special projects, studies, and surveys. The role requires collecting information and processing reports, often dealing with highly sensitive and confidential data. Key duties include composing various typing assignments such as bills, reports, correspondence, and forms, as well as developing and maintaining record-keeping and filing systems. The assistant will also be responsible for greeting visitors, patients, and staff, providing assistance, answering phones, and relaying messages. Additionally, the role involves arranging and coordinating meetings, conferences, interviews, appointments, and travel, managing the supervisor's schedule, and keeping the supervisor informed of office activities, alongside other clerical duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • 3-5 years' experience as an administrative secretary or equivalent training.
  • Proficient in EPIC, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and with little or no supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to type at least 50+ words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Composes and/or performs a wide variety of typing assignments including bills, reports, correspondence and forms.
  • Develops, revises and maintains record-keeping and filing system according to departmental procedure.
  • Greets visitors, patients, associates, medical staff, board members, etc., determines their needs and provides assistance.
  • Answers the phone, takes and relays accurate messages.
  • Arranges and coordinates various meetings and conferences, interviews, appointments and travel activities and performs other duties related to maintaining supervisor's personal schedule.
  • Keeps supervisor currently informed of office activities.
  • Performs a variety of other clerical duties.
