About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant III for Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) – Perryville. In this role, you will complete special projects as requested by the Deputy Warden, Associate Deputy Warden, and/or Administrator. You will serve as a primary point of contact for public inquiries, conduct research as needed, and respond with professionalism and accuracy. You will also draft letters and correspondence for the Deputy Warden’s signature, ensuring all documents are polished, executive-ready, and well organized. Additionally, you will coordinate special events and meetings, manage planning and logistics to keep critical schedules on track, and support employee recognition efforts that celebrate the teams across assigned units.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of administration and management; agency or program rules, regulations and operating procedures
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures
  • Knowledge of departmental policy and procedures; management and supervision
  • Skill in verbal and written communication
  • Skill in maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Skill in organization; project management; and composing correspondence
  • Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate activities and establish priorities
  • Ability to develop effective operating procedures
  • Ability to assess situations and make sound decisions
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a prison environment
  • Must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license
  • Must complete all required training
  • Must successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks
  • Must maintain acceptable driving records
  • Must maintain the statutorily required liability insurance if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • Must pass a drug test
  • Must take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Responsibilities

  • Researches and compiles reports, letters, inquiries, and policy updates
  • Manages supervisor calendar

  • Maintains inventory control, develops or modifies procedures and forms, interprets and explains organizational rules, regulations and department orders
