About The Position

University of Maryland Extension (UME) Agriculture and Food Systems (AgFS) Program seeks a 12-month Agricultural Nutrient Management Program (ANMP) Administrative Assistant. This position provides administrative support to the ANMP Program Director, Faculty Specialists, and Agriculture and Food Systems (AgFS) Assistant Director and Program Leader. The ANMP provides services that improve farm profitability, reduce excess nutrient inputs moving into the Chesapeake Bay, and enable producers to comply with the State of Maryland’s Water Quality Improvement Act of 1998.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
3 years experience providing administrative support.
General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures.
Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing.
Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the ANMP Program Director, Faculty Specialists, and AgFS Assistant Director and Program Leader.
Support the daily activities and operations of the ANMP.
Gather information and develop ANMP publications and reports.
Maintain the ANMP website and social media.
