About The Position

The Ambulatory Clinics of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program are designed to meet the follow-up health needs of organ transplant recipients. All patients transplanted at UHN have a designated Transplant Coordinator within the Ambulatory program who assists in managing their care along with the multidisciplinary health team. Each organ group has a specific time and weekday for clinic, with appointments scheduled through their coordinator.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in managing time and tasks within an extremely busy professional office environment
  • Ability to focus on the priorities of a rapidly changing day
  • Excellent MS Office applications skills, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Show initiative and work well with a wide range of people throughout the organization
  • Insightful, mature and tactful
  • Remain calm under pressure and confident in their capability to perform well in the job and make it their own
  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized Post Secondary Medical Office Administration program
  • Two (2) years related office administration experience
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience required; experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards

  • Experience working in a health care environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Performing word processing/typing services for assigned personnel
  • Providing support with small and/or informal meetings/events
  • Maintaining written and/or electronic calendar/schedules
  • Maintaining and modifying electronic and paper information filing/retrieval systems methods, and/or formats
  • Performing routine budgetary support functions
