The Outpatient Cancer and Blood Disorders Administrative Assistant serves as the initial contact for patients, families, and referring providers to connect with pediatric hematology and oncology outpatient services. This role is instrumental in facilitating timely, multidisciplinary care and obtaining records needed for a meaningful new patient experience. The clinic administrative assistant works closely with the multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal service and patient experience outcomes. The Outpatient Cancer and Blood Disorders Administrative Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Under direct supervision, the administrative assistant offers individualized assistance to patients and caregivers to assist in overcoming healthcare system barriers and is the primary contact for all clinic scheduling needs. This role promotes informed decision making and timely access to quality patient care while providing a vital link in communication between multidisciplinary providers both internal and external to MUSC during treatment planning for patients and caregivers.
